ATLANTA, GEORGIA | JULY 16TH, 2022
  It was assumed that initially there would be some awkwardness among the over 200 attendees at The Meet Up Experience. I mean,  they were essentially strangers coming together from all across the United Staes. However, that was not the case. From the moment the doors opened, the room filled with excited chatter, warm hugs & photo taking. People immediately made their way over to the bar to get a  mock tail & head to the rooftop or cellar to explore more.  Heading to the rooftop meant you were ready to lounge, listen to the saxophonist play live & engage in some soft conversation. Oh and of course get a rooftop photo. If you chose to head down to the cellar you were ready to engage in some game playing and  guided conversation. Whether it was playing with the oversized Jenga or pulling an icebreaker card from the deck to ask the group, this is where all the breaking of the ice happened. For the next 5 hrs, we filled our stomach with tasty food ,  gathered in the photo booth to capture  moments we would never get back,  danced until our shoes came off, &  ended the night with a live performance  singing " I AM WORTH THE WAIT " as we waived our lit up phones in the air. Though we came as strangers, we left as a Tribe.

Oh, but the  meeting & greeting did not stop there. Throughout the weekend The Tribe met up for some planned &  sporadic mini Meet Up's. We went skating, karoking, scooter riding, bowling & took over or shut down each placed we attended.  Whether it was being told we had to leave the waffle house because it was too many of us or being told it was time to go at SkyLine park after we gathered for a photo & began chanting TST loudly. We would be out as late at 4am. You could see people getting tired, falling asleep, but did not want to leave. These are moments many had been dreaming of for so many years. They had finally found their Tribe. A place where they could be themselves unappolgetically & they were not going to let sleep make them miss out on enjoying every moment. Whether it was our Tribe shirts or our large presence, wherever we went people were curious about who we were. We even had three strangers join us & one recommit to being abstinent. 🎉

Without a shadow of a doubt  ATL felt TST'S presence. God used us for sure on July 16th, 2022 in Atlanta, Ga to be a light in the midst of darkness. To al the attendees of The Meet Up Experience, y'all all were apart of THEE trailblazing, culture shaking, history making Meet Up Experience. May that moment be etched in your heart's forever as you all will forever be etched in mine!

It was a physical affirmation that people I've craved to be in community with exists. That those that mocked my desire of men and women choosing to abstain and pursue a relationship with God we're mere distractions from the devil. This meetup gave me the courage and strength to stand boldly in my convictions as I have a tribe of people that share my convictions. The silly divisions of denominations are not mentioned or focused on. What brings us together is wanting to live as holy as possible while living a holy and pure life as children of God, which I believe is Christ's vision.

We also have been praying fir one another. I also met a guy close to my hometown and we have been on a few dates. "

My entire adult life I felt like I’ve had to be someone else or hide behind a persona in order to be accepted. This event allowed me to be myself, true and authentic, unapologetic about my faith and my commitment to being a man of God. "

" Lord! My true takeaway is that is REAL community! I don’t have to be ashamed of my walk with Christ and definitely not about waiting until marriage. So many beautiful souls I was able to meet and I’m so grateful for you, Shakia! I pray that we are able to do this again for as long as God desires! I’ve NEVER experienced such a community of this magnitude AND we all have a heart for God! What else can you ask for!!! I’m truly grateful! I’ll be on the assistance committee next time! I just need to be in the room! 🙌🏾

" The Meet up Experience...I knew I needed it, but I didn't realize how much I did. It's really hard to put into words how much this meant to me. I TRULY appreciate all of the time and effort Shakia put into this. When I walked into the venue I was at a loss for words, everything was BEAUTIFUL and was executed so well, done in nothing but EXCELLENCE!! I met so many people that have poured into me whether they knew it or not. I know we've been saying it, but I truly mean it when I say...I FOUND MY TRIBE!! "

So, I had a travel buddy from the tribe who cancelled on me the day before. I was so nervous about going to such a big city alone, I was about to cancel the whole trip. Instead I reached out to some tribe members from my book club and the chat and they embraced me! I never felt alone again that whole weekend. I got multiple rides from people and just had the best time!! It felt like we had known each other our whole lives. I lost two relatives within 3 weeks of each other (was almost not able to attend for a funeral) and so it was really nice to get away. They are family now and I will always be grateful!

" I loved seeing God’s love in human form. The familial atmosphere was beautiful to witness. People from all over, coming together and having good CLEAN fun. My heart was overjoyed. Some instant connections were made and I pray they continue to grow for a lifetime. Walked into the situation alone but left feeling like I found my family. It was much needed and appreciated. "
